Winter Bird Feeding Tips
Winter bird feeding is a fun thing to do and it can help birds survive through the cold and snowy weather.
Tips
• To help
keep your feathered friends safe, make sure to place feeders
out in the open so that birds can see approaching dangers like
hawks, cats and other predators.
• With ponds and puddles frozen give birds a drink by getting a bird bath
that has a heating element with an automatic thermostat that turns it off
in warmer weather. It gives the birds a reliable source of water and it
saves energy!
• You can reduce bird food waste by using "waste-free" or “no hull” birdseed. It’s completely edible with no hulls or shells. The birds love it, it won’t attract mice and you end up with less mess to clean up in the spring!
