For over 20 years, Kim has been a high profile socially responsible business leader and eco-preneur. She is founder of 5 companies that use earth-friendliness as their driving force. She was a pioneer in the green housing movement in the early 90’s, which subsequently has become a major national phenomenon. She has also worked with politicians and policy makers as Chair of the Minnesota Environmental Initiative, a member of the Governors Roundtable for Sustainability and as a Public Policy Forum Fellow at the Humphrey Institute of the University of Minnesota. Known as a businessperson who is also an environmentalist, Kim serves as a board member for 6 non-profit environmental organizations.

Recently, expanding her brand into consumer products, Kim searched the world over and found luxurious earth-friendly materials for the launch of her new line of green home décor products, EarthSmart Kim Carlson™. The product line includes dishes, rugs, vases, frames and accent pieces for the home all made from earth-friendly or recycled materials and will be available in 2009.
